When we designed Riad Al-Bushra, our vision was to offer an experience that would help you fall in love with Africa's most exotic city (just as we have). We wanted to ensure you had comfort and convenience in a traditional setting at a realistic price. The restoration was, for us, ambitious and complex and it took over 9 months to transform the riad from a Moroccan home into a place suitable for explorers and leisurely holidaymakers.
The riad dates back several hundred years but we think we have got a perfect balance beween traditional and contemporary. We employed the best local craftsmen and artisans who have installed tadelakt, hand carved plaster, hand painted wood and traditional zelig tiles and yet we have been completely replummed, rewired and have installed the most up to date air conditioning (January 2015) and modern luxurious accessories, such as sumptuous fabrics, and hand crafted lighting.
We employ an excellent housekeeper and cook who lives in the same street, a local fixer and guardian who assists us with problems. Behined the scenes we have an accountant and a few regular skilled artisans and we have a policy of ensuring one of the owners is always resident for the duration of your stay.
